Resize an Image to 20 KB or 50 KB on Android or iPhone
Form wants a photo under 20 KB or 50 KB? Type your own target in ResizePing on Android or iPhone, check the projected size, and lower the resolution if it can't get there.

An upload form says the photo must be under 20 KB or 50 KB, and yours is a few megabytes. ResizePing lets you type your own target in KB on Android and iPhone, shows a projected size before you save, and tells you when a target can't be reached.
Need a photo at this size? ResizePing resizes photos to exact dimensions or a file size on iPhone and Android. Get it on Google Play or the App Store.
Steps

- Open ResizePing and pick the photo or photos you want to shrink.
- Set Mode to Target size.
- In Target (KB), type 20 or 50. Any whole number above 0 works; anything else shows "Enter a number".
- Pick the format the form asks for: JPG, PNG or WEBP. Leave Strip metadata on unless the form says otherwise.
- Read the Projected size for each photo before you run.
- Tap Run, then check the result size before you upload.

Which size do you need?
- 50 KB: see the standalone guide: Resize an Image to 50 KB on Android or iPhone.
- 20 KB: much tighter. See the standalone guide: Resize an Image to 20 KB on Android or iPhone.
- 10 KB: tighter still: Resize an Image to 10 KB on Android or iPhone.
- Other limits: 30 KB, 15 KB, 100 KB and the general guide to resize an image in KB.
If 20 KB is too small for the photo
Very small targets on big photos may not be reachable. When that happens ResizePing says "Can't get this under 20 KB. Try a larger size or lower resolution." and the projected size shows the smallest it can reach. If a finished result still misses, it shows "Couldn't reach 20 KB — this is the smallest possible".
Lower the resolution first, then try the target again:
- Switch Mode to Dimensions or Percent and make the photo smaller.
- Run it, then open the smaller result and set Target size to 20 or 50.
- If the form allows a bit more room, try 50 KB instead of 20 KB.
A photo that is already small shows "Already under 20 KB", so there is nothing to do.
What to know
- ResizePing works on photos. It does not have signature, ID or face modes, and it does not change backgrounds.
- The projected size is an estimate, so read the real size of the result before you upload.
- The same Target size mode handles other numbers too. For the 100 KB case, see How to Reduce Photo Size to 100 KB on iPhone and Android.
