Resize an Image to 300 KB on Android or iPhone

Need an image under 300 KB? Set a 300 KB target in ResizePing on Android or iPhone, check the projected size, and save a smaller copy.

Published October 26, 2026

To resize an image to 300 KB, open the photo in ResizePing on Android or iPhone, set Mode to Target size and type 300 in the Target (KB) field. The app shows a projected size before you save and tells you when 300 KB can't be reached.

Need a photo at this size? ResizePing resizes photos to exact dimensions or a file size on iPhone and Android. Get it on Google Play or the App Store.

Steps

  1. Open ResizePing and pick the photo you want to shrink.
  2. Set Mode to Target size.
  3. In Target (KB), type 300.
  4. Pick the format the form asks for: JPG, PNG or WEBP. Leave Strip metadata on unless the form says otherwise.
  5. Read the Projected size before you run.
  6. Tap Run, then check the result size before you upload.

If 300 KB is not reachable

If ResizePing can't reach the target it says "Can't get this under 300 KB. Try a larger size or lower resolution." Lower the resolution first, then try the target again:

  1. Switch Mode to Dimensions or Percent and make the photo smaller.
  2. Run it, then open the smaller result, set Target size, type 300 in Target (KB) and tap Run.

What to know

  • ResizePing works on photos.
  • The projected size is an estimate, so read the real size of the result before you upload.
  • If the form has a hard 300 KB limit, check the saved size before you upload; if it is over, type a slightly lower target, such as 299.
  • Location data is stripped by default. You can process one photo or a batch.
