Save Instagram reels, photos & carousels
Share from Instagram or paste a link. ReelSavePing downloads the media to your phone so it works offline. Nothing leaves your device, and there is no account to create.
Features
Two ways to save, one place to watch
ReelSavePing is focused on doing one thing well: getting Instagram media onto your phone so you can watch it anytime, even without a connection.
Share from Instagram
Open a reel in Instagram, tap Share, and choose ReelSavePing. The link lands on Add link ready to save — no copying, no switching apps.
Paste a link
Copy the link from under the reel in Instagram, open ReelSavePing, paste it into Add link, and tap Continue. The same save flow, no share sheet needed.
Carousels saved completely
Every photo and video in a carousel post is saved, not just the first one. Swipe through the whole set in the app's full-screen viewer, offline.
Saved library with search & filters
Find saved media by type, account, or order. Rename items, share them back to Instagram, or delete them — all from the library.
Failed saves can retry
If a save fails (private post, no network, login wall), it stays in the library with a Retry button. You don't lose the link and don't have to start over.
Repost to Instagram with your caption
Tap Repost and the caption is copied to the clipboard with an on-screen message, then Instagram opens with the saved media. Paste the caption into your post.
How It Works
From Instagram to your library in two taps
ReelSavePing fetches the public embed page for the link you share or paste, extracts the media URLs, and downloads them directly from Instagram's CDN to your device.
Share or paste the link
Open the reel in Instagram, tap Share → ReelSavePing. Or copy the link from Instagram, open the app, paste into Add link, and tap Continue.
Preview and confirm
ReelSavePing fetches the public embed page, shows you a preview with the caption and media type, and you tap Save to start the download.
Watch offline, anytime
The media downloads in the background. When it's ready, it appears at the top of your Saved library. Tap to play, share, repost, or rename — all offline.
Privacy
Everything stays on your phone
ReelSavePing has no account, no sign-in, and no server of its own. Here is exactly what does and does not leave your device.
Your saved media never leaves your device
ReelSavePing downloads media directly from Instagram's CDN to your phone's storage (Android: app-specific MediaStore folders Pictures/ReelSavePing and Movies/ReelSavePing; iOS: Photos library with add-only access). Nothing is uploaded to PingApps Lab or any third party — there is no cloud processing and no server-side copy.
No broad storage or photo library permission
On Android, ReelSavePing writes to its own MediaStore folders using scoped storage — no storage read permission on Android 13+, no All files access. On iOS, it uses add-only Photos access, requested only when you first save. The app never sees your existing photos or gallery.
Network requests are only to Instagram's public embed page and CDN
The app makes one anonymous HTTPS request to Instagram's public embed endpoint (e.g., https://www.instagram.com/p/<shortcode>/embed/) with an ephemeral session — no cookies, no auth headers, no Instagram-app identity. Media URLs from that page are then fetched directly from Instagram's CDN. No request goes to a PingApps Lab server.
No account, no sign-in
There is no ReelSavePing account, registration, or profile. The app works the moment you install it. Your saved media and library metadata are stored locally and are never linked to your identity.
Content-free diagnostics
The app may collect crash reports and anonymous usage analytics to keep it working and improve it. They are content-free: they never include your saved media, links, or captions.
