Reporting a bug?

To help us investigate quickly, please include the following in your email:

  • Device model — e.g. Samsung Galaxy S24 or iPhone 16
  • OS version — Android: Settings → About phone. iPhone/iPad: Settings → General → About
  • ReelSavePing version — shown at the bottom of ReelSavePing’s Settings screen
  • The Instagram link you tried to save — paste the exact link (or say it was a share from Instagram)
  • What happened — what you did, what you expected, and what actually happened (e.g. "save failed with private post error", "stuck on Waiting for network")

Privacy reminder

ReelSavePing processes your media entirely on your device, so we never see it. Please do not attach private images or videos to a support email unless they are strictly necessary to describe the issue.

Quick answers

How do I save a reel?
Two ways — both land on the same save preview:
1. Share from Instagram: Open the reel in Instagram, tap Share, and choose ReelSavePing. The link lands on Add link ready to save — just tap Save.
2. Paste the link: Tap the link under the reel in Instagram and copy it, open ReelSavePing, paste into Add link, and tap Continue.
What kinds of posts can I save?
Reels (video), single photos, and carousels (multiple photos and/ or videos). Stories, live videos, and posts from private accounts are not supported because they don't have a public embed page.
Why did my save fail?
Common reasons:
  • Private or deleted post: The embed page returns a login wall or "not found" — ReelSavePing shows an error ("This post is private or has been deleted." on both platforms).
  • Private account: If the account is private, the embed page is not publicly accessible.
  • Offline: The save queues with "Waiting for network" and retries automatically when you're back online.
  • Rate limited: Instagram's embed page may rate-limit requests; the save fails and you can tap Retry later.
Failed saves stay in your library with a Retrybutton — you don't lose the link and don't have to start over.
Where are my saved files stored?
On Android: photos in the app's MediaStore folder (Pictures/ReelSavePing), videos inMovies/ReelSavePing — both readable by your gallery app. On iPhone and iPad: in your Photos library (add-only access). In both cases, the files are ordinary media files you can back up, move, or delete like any other photo or video.
Can I save from a private account?
No. ReelSavePing only reads Instagram's public embed page. If the account is private or the post is deleted, the embed page is not publicly accessible and the save fails with a clear error.
How do I repost a saved reel to Instagram?
Tap Repost on any saved item — the caption is copied to the clipboard with an on-screen confirmation, and Instagram opens with the saved media. If Instagram is not installed, a message appears instead. The system share sheet is only used when the save did not reach Photos; it then shares the media file(s) and post link.
Is ReelSavePing affiliated with Instagram or Meta?
No. ReelSavePing is a PingApps Lab product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Meta Platforms, Inc. or Instagram LLC in any way. It uses Instagram's public embed page, which is publicly accessible without authentication.
How do I delete my saved items?
Android: long-press an item to enter selection mode, then tap Delete (or use Select All for multiple).iPhone and iPad: long-press an item to enter selection mode, then tap Delete (or use Select All for multiple). Uninstalling ReelSavePing removes all app data. Media files already in your gallery/Photos remain until you delete them there.
Is there a Pro version or subscription?
No. ReelSavePing is free with a single banner ad. On Android it appears at the top of every screen except the full-screen player. On iPhone and iPad it appears at the top of every tab. Ad requests are non-personalized on both platforms — the app asks Google for non-personalized ads. There is no Pro tier, no subscription, and no in-app purchases.
