Privacy Policy
ReelSavePing is a PingApps Lab product. This policy explains, in plain language, what data ReelSavePing handles, what stays on your device, and the limited diagnostic information that leaves it.
Your saved media stays on your device
All media downloads — reels, photos, and carousel items — happen directly from Instagram's CDN to your device. The media you save is never uploaded to PingApps Lab or to any third party. There is no cloud processing, no server round-trip, and no copy of your saved media kept anywhere off your device.
How ReelSavePing fetches media
When you share a link from Instagram or paste one into the app, ReelSavePing makes a single anonymous HTTPS request to Instagram's public embed page (for example,https://www.instagram.com/p/<shortcode>/embed/). This request uses an ephemeral session with no cookie storage, no authentication headers, and no Instagram-app identity. The embed page returns public HTML that contains the media URLs, which ReelSavePing then fetches directly from Instagram's CDN. No request goes to a PingApps Lab server.
How ReelSavePing accesses your media library
On Android, ReelSavePing writes saved media to its own MediaStore folders (Pictures/ReelSavePing for photos andMovies/ReelSavePing for videos) using scoped storage. It requests no broad storage permission (no storage read permission on Android 13+, no All files access) — the app only ever writes to its own folders, which your gallery app can read. On iPhone and iPad, ReelSavePing uses add-only Photos access, requested only when you first save something. The app never sees your existing photos or library.
No account required
ReelSavePing requires no account, sign-in, or registration of any kind. There is no user profile, no login, and no data linked to your identity. The app works the moment you install it.
Diagnostics and crash reporting
The app may collect crash reports and anonymous usage analytics to keep it working and improve it. Crash reports and analytics are strictly content-free: they never include your saved media, the links you shared, captions, or any media metadata.
Advertising
ReelSavePing shows a single small banner ad. On Android it appears at the top of every screen except the full-screen player. On iPhone and iPad it appears at the top of every tab. The ad is served by Google's Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) SDK. There is no interstitial, rewarded, native, or app-open ad, and no other ad network or mediation partner.
iPhone and iPad: Every ad request isnon-personalized — the app asks Google for non-personalized ads. There is no toggle to turn personalization on.
Android: Every ad request isnon-personalized — the app asks Google for non-personalized ads. There is no toggle to turn personalization on.
Serving any ad — personalized or not — requires Google's SDK to send a device/advertising identifier to Google's ad infrastructure to request and measure the ad; that request leaves your device to Google, a third party. PingApps Lab itself never logs or collects any ad identifier, ad-unit ID, or ad-SDK error detail.
Clipboard use
ReelSavePing reads or writes the clipboard only when you initiate an action. Repost writes the post caption to the clipboard on both platforms, only when you tap Repost. The behavior differs by platform:
iPhone and iPad
- Paste a link: On the Add link screen, a Paste button reads the clipboard to fill the link field. The clipboard is only read when you tap the button; an empty or non-link clipboard leaves the field unchanged.
- Copy hashtags: On the Save preview screen, a “Copy” button copies all hashtags from the post to the clipboard.
- Copy link: On the Save preview screen overflow menu, “Copy link” copies the post's permalink to the clipboard.
- Repost: When you tap Repost on a saved item, ReelSavePing copies the post caption to the clipboard, shows a message saying so, and opens Instagram with the saved media — only when you tap Repost. If Instagram is not installed, a message appears instead. The system share sheet is only used when the save did not reach Photos; it then shares the media file(s) and post link.
Android
- Paste a link: On the Add link screen, a Paste button reads the clipboard to fill the link field. The clipboard is only read when you tap the button.
- Copy link: On the Save preview screen overflow menu, “Copy link” copies the post's permalink to the clipboard.
- Repost: When you tap Repost on a saved item, ReelSavePing copies the post caption to the clipboard with an on-screen confirmation and hands the media to Instagram — only when you tap Repost. It does not open a share sheet.
The app never reads the clipboard automatically, never logs its contents, and never sends clipboard data anywhere.
Permissions and app access
On Android, ReelSavePing declares the following permissions:
- Internet access — required to fetch Instagram's public embed page, download media from Instagram's CDN, and serve the banner ad.
- Network state — required to detect connectivity and show "Waiting for network" when a save is queued offline.
- Foreground service (data sync) — required so the download can continue in the background with a progress notification.
- Post notifications — asked at the first Save tap (never at launch) so the progress notification can show; denying it never blocks a save, only hides its notification.
- Read media images / video — declared in the manifest but never requested at runtime. Writing our own MediaStore rows needs no permission.
- Read external storage (maxSdkVersion 32) — declared for compatibility with Android 12 and below; not requested on Android 13+.
ReelSavePing does not request access to your contacts, microphone, location, or broad storage. On Android, media is written to the app's own MediaStore folders using scoped storage. On iPhone and iPad, photos are saved using add-only Photos access.
Data and deletion
All of ReelSavePing's data — your saved media files, library metadata (captions, account names, timestamps), and app settings — is stored locally on your device. PingApps Lab does not hold a copy of it, so there is no account to close and no server-side data to request the deletion of.
You can delete individual saved items from within the app at any time.Android: long-press an item to enter selection mode, then tap Delete (or use Select All). iPhone and iPad:long-press an item to enter selection mode, then tap Delete (or use Select All). Uninstalling ReelSavePing removes all of its on-device data. Saved media files you have already saved to your gallery or Photos library are ordinary files and remain until you delete them yourself.
Children's privacy
ReelSavePing is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
