Steps to convert WebP to JPG on Android

Follow these steps to convert a WebP photo to JPG on Android:

  1. Open ResizePing on your Android phone and tap Select photos, or share the WebP image into ResizePing from Photos, Files, Drive, or another app.
  2. In the system Photo Picker, select the WebP photo you want to convert. You can select a single photo or select multiple photos to process as a batch.
  3. In the "Choose output" sheet, pick the JPG chip. WEBP and PNG output chips are also available.
  4. Choose a quality level: Best, Balanced, or Smallest. You can also enter an exact target size in KB or MB, or select a preset such as 100 KB or 1 MB. The app shows the projected result size on screen before running and warns when a target is impossible.
  5. Tap Run to process the image.
  6. The Done screen compares the before and after file size, with Share and Done options.

File size when converting WebP to JPG

Because WebP is already a modern compressed web format, a converted JPG can be a similar size or slightly smaller, but a smaller size is not guaranteed.

If your upload portal requires a specific maximum file size, you can specify an exact target size in KB or MB, or choose a preset like 100 KB. ResizePing checks your target, shows the projected size before you run, and warns if the target is impossible to reach.

When you need a JPG instead of WebP

WebP is commonly saved when downloading images from web browsers, and some upload forms, apps and older software may ask for a standard JPG file. Check the format your form accepts before you upload.

Quality levels and presets

ResizePing provides three quality levels when converting images:

  • Best: Favours image quality.
  • Smallest: Favours a smaller file size.
  • Balanced: Sits between Best and Smallest.

You can also resize or compress photos to an exact file size in KB or MB, or set exact dimensions using pixels, percent, or print sizes in mm, cm, or inches with DPI. Presets include 100 KB, 1 MB, 1080 px, and passport 35x45 mm. Completed jobs are saved in a searchable history so you can re-run any job in one tap.
