To compress an MP4 on your phone, open it in ResizePing, pick a target size such as 500, 200 or 100 MB, check the estimate, and tap Resize video. The compressed video is saved as an MP4, so it plays and uploads like the original.

Compress an MP4 on your phone. ResizePing shrinks videos to a size you choose, with an estimate first, on iPhone and Android. Get it on Google Play or the App Store.

How to compress an MP4

  1. Install ResizePing and open the video tool.
  2. Pick the MP4. The screen shows its duration, resolution and source size.
  3. On the Target size tab, choose 500 MB, 200 MB or 100 MB, or Custom and type a size in MB.
  4. Read the estimated size. Change the target if it is not what you need.
  5. Tap Resize video, then check the before and after size on the result screen.

If you would rather set the output yourself, the video tool also has Resolution and Quality tabs.

Why compress on your phone

  • You choose the size. Pick a preset or type your own number of MB.
  • You see the estimate first, so you can change the target without starting over.
  • It stays on your device. Never uploaded to our servers.
  • You get an MP4 back, ready to share or upload.

Which size should you pick?

Start from the limit you are up against. If a form accepts 25 MB, choose Custom and type 25. The estimate is a projection, not a promise of an exact file size, so leave a little room under the limit.
