AI Chatbot With No Sign Up: Chat on iPhone

You can chat with an AI on your iPhone without making an account. Here is how it works with ChatPing, what runs on your phone, and what does not.

ChatPing runs an AI model on your iPhone: an on-device model downloads once, and then chat works offline once set up. You can chat without making an account. Install ChatPing, open it and start typing. There is no sign-up and no login screen.

How to start chatting with no account

  1. Install ChatPing from the App Store.
  2. Open it. You go straight to the app, with no sign-up or login screen.
  3. Pick an on-device model and let it download once, so do this on a connection you are happy to download over. Qwen3.5 2B (about 1.3 GB) is the recommended one; Qwen3.5 4B, Gemma 4 E2B and Llama 3.2 3B are also offered.
  4. The model runs on your phone once downloaded, and chat with it works offline once set up.

Your chats are stored only on the device, and there is no sync between devices.

On-device and cloud models

ChatPing works with two kinds of model.

  • On-device model. The model runs on your phone once downloaded, and it works offline once set up.
  • Cloud models (optional). Add your own OpenRouter API key, which is kept in the iPhone Keychain, and choose from models such as Gemini, Claude, GPT and DeepSeek, or enter any OpenRouter model ID. You pay your AI provider directly.

Cloud chats go to the provider you chose through your own key. OpenRouter itself needs an account to get that key, though ChatPing does not. If an on-device model fails, ChatPing can offer to retry the message with a cloud model, and that retry follows the cloud rule.

What to know

  • The on-device model needs a one-time download, then works offline once set up. Cloud models need an internet connection and go through your chosen provider.
  • The app shows ads.
  • You can attach PDF, text and image files, dictate by voice, and get streaming replies. On the on-device model, images are read as text with on-device OCR; it does not understand pictures. PDF and text files are read on the phone.
  • With a cloud model and your own key, you can ask the assistant to search your chat history, open a chat, start or delete chats (deleting always asks you to confirm), switch model, or summarize a PDF.
  • ChatPing has no web search or link-reading tool.
  • ChatPing uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. Its seven anonymous usage events carry no message text.
