Privacy Policy
VideoDownloaderPing is a PingApps Lab product. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does with your data, what stays on your device, and what Google services receive from the app.
Your saved videos are not sent to us
Videos and images you save are written to your phone. On Android they go to a VideoDownloaderPing album in your phone's media library; on iPhone and iPad they go to your Photos library. They also sit in the app's own storage so the offline player can open them. PingApps Lab does not receive, store, or upload your saved files, and we have no copy of them.
The album follows your phone's own photo and media backup settings. If you have cloud backup switched on, your phone's own backup service can copy those videos; that service is run by your phone or its provider, not by PingApps Lab.
Private folder. Videos you lock in the private folder are kept on the device only and are protected by your phone's biometric unlock or device passcode. The private folder is excluded from cloud backup on both platforms. We never receive its contents.
No account and no sign-in
VideoDownloaderPing has no account, no sign-up, no password, and no user profile. We do not ask for your name or email address to use the app. The app never asks you to log in to any website, and it does not read, capture, or store login details for any site.
How the app gets a video
When you paste a link, share one to the app, or browse a page in the built-in browser, the app connects directly from your phone to the website and media host involved in order to find and download the video. Those sites receive the same kind of request your phone makes when you visit them, and they handle that request under their own policies. The app does not disguise its requests as another app or browser.
The app does not send your links to a PingApps Lab server to be processed. Finding the media happens on your phone.
The built-in browser keeps cookies for the sites you visit on your device, as any browser does. Those cookies remain on your phone.
Site switches
So that a site handler can be turned off without an app update, the app fetches a small set of on/off switches from Google Firebase. The switch file is app configuration, not information about you.
Crash reports — Google Firebase Crashlytics
VideoDownloaderPing uses Google Firebase Crashlytics on Android and iPhone and iPad. When the app crashes, Crashlytics sends a crash report to Google. The report includes the device model, operating system version, app version, and the crash stack trace. It is used only to find and fix crashes. There is no in-app switch to turn Crashlytics off.
Usage events — Google Analytics for Firebase
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase on Android and iPhone and iPad, enabled by default, with no in-app switch to turn it off. It records a small set of usage events, such as a download finishing, a download failing and the kind of failure, a permission being granted or denied, and the purchase steps (paywall shown, purchase started, completed, or failed). Analytics events are designed never to contain links, page addresses, or file names.
Like other Google services, Analytics also receives standard information such as device model, operating system version, app version, a random app-instance identifier, and approximate location derived from the connection. PingApps Lab uses these events to understand how the app is used and what breaks. We do not use them to identify you.
Ads and consent
The free version shows banner ads served by Google AdMob. Before the app requests ads, it shows the consent messages from Google's User Messaging Platform, including the European (GDPR) and US state messages where they apply. Until that consent step allows it, the app does not request ads.
Every ad request is non-personalized. The app asks Google for ads that are not based on your interests. To serve and measure an ad, Google still receives a device advertising identifier and the request itself; that is handled by Google under its own policies. PingApps Lab does not receive or store ad identifiers.
Purchases
The paid subscription is sold through Google Play Billing on Android and Apple's In-App Purchase on iPhone and iPad. The store processes payment. We never see your card or payment details. The app learns from the store whether your subscription is active, and it offers a Restore purchases option. Subscriptions are managed in your store account; see the Terms of Use for details.
Permissions
The app asks for the permissions it needs to work: network access to download, notifications to show download progress, and access to save files to your media library. Denying an optional permission leaves the rest of the app usable.
Your choices
You can delete saved videos inside the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes its data from your phone. Copies already saved to your phone's library or Photos stay there until you delete them in that app. You can control notifications and the ad-ID settings in your phone's system settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. The current version is always published on this page.
